THE PERPETUAL TRANSIT TOWARDS THE PRESENT

Ecosystems are complex networks of intercommunicated elements, not always just organic or alive. Systems work as a whole and are unconceivable without a dynamic balance of all its elements in a tight interaction. This work explores the evolution and inter-connection of all the elements in a human-designed ecosystem, evocating a possible process of re-contamination.
This transit through time and space can be a metaphor of life phases where, from an illusion of purity, the interaction with our environment makes us a more complex and more resilient system, with probably more chances to survive in this sometimes-hostile environment.

For this installation I commisioned an specific piece from Alvaro Escalona that would be able to interact in terms of fluidity, inmersion, spirituality, science, organicity, life and death. In his own words:

“The sound piece recreates an illusory soundscape from recorded sounds of water and other created from digital synthesis. The result is a piece with different sound planes that evolve slowly, creating an organic environment that alludes to life and the process of purification and transformation that occurs through the glass spheres of the installation. I used the conjunction between materials, between glass and water, creating an special atmosphere that recreates the inner metamorphose of the whole process. In this soundscape Miguel Moreno idenified some extracts from some Bukminster Fuller´s conferences that express in a few words our relation with the system and the reason of its continuity.”
